Adapting To Changing Times In The Wedding Industry | Alexander Homestead

In this week's episode of The Venue Rx Podcast, our host Jonathan Aymin interviews Tirzah Caffee, the owner of  Alexander Homestead, a historic wedding venue in Charlotte, North Carolina, and a venue consultant in the wedding industry. Tirzah shares her experience in the industry and her journey as a venue owner. She discusses the importance of knowing the market, understanding competitors, and sharing best practices. Tirzah also talks about her family's involvement in the wedding industry and the challenges and successes they've faced. She emphasizes the importance of adapting to changing times and understanding the target audience for successful venue bookings. She also shares her passion around coaching and connecting with other venue owners for consulting or support.

About Our Guest:

Co-owning the Alexander Homestead has been a source of immense joy and privilege for Tirzah. When she was just 14 years old, her parents acquired a historic home in Missouri, and the family dedicated their high school years to its renovation. The turning point came in 1994 when her sister's wedding took place at The Larimore, marking the inception of their family's connection with the wedding industry.

Growing up amidst weddings has bestowed upon her a distinct skill set, enabling her to proficiently manage the business and collaborate with couples. Tirzah’s fervor lies not only in the wedding industry but also in promoting female entrepreneurship. With her family's ownership and operation of five different venues, they possess a deep understanding of how to cater to the demands of modern, busy couples. Beyond the venues, she has initiated various ventures such as the Charlotte Local Wedding Show, featuring predominantly female-owned local businesses, as well as Live Encouraged, a life-coaching course. Moreover, she finds fulfillment in public speaking within the wedding industry and offering guidance to fellow venue owners to enhance their success.

During her off-hours from managing her businesses, she prioritizes spending quality time with her two teenagers, embarking on travels, and actively participating in volunteer work at their church.
